Almost 60 years ago, Elmer and Bertha Brown brought seven plants north from Connecticut to Thetford, Vermont, with a vision for a small nursery and landscaping business that would serve the Upper Valley.

Today, new ownership is proud to build on E.C. Brown’s successful tradition of growing, selecting, selling and installing hardy northern plants for the challenging Vermont and New Hampshire climate.

Specializing in top quality plants and expert landscaping services, we grow some of what we sell right at our nursery. And what we don't grow, we source from quality plant suppliers across the U.S. and Canada—selecting only from those who have a history of raising quality plants that will thrive in northern New England's rugged and unpredictable climate.
