More About Our Team

Deb Barnes

Perennial Pal

Deb started working part-time around 12 years ago. The summer work aligned well with her teaching schedule and since the covid-inspired gardening boom, she has been a regular at the nursery. You can often find her in the greenhouses or the perennial yard.  Outside of the nursery, Deb enjoys listening to her MN Twins baseball team almost as much as tending her own gardens and 100+ blueberry bushes.  And when the snow flies you will likely find her glade skiing at one of Vermont’s independent ski areas.

Chris Wilson

Plant Guru

Chris has been a fixture at The E C Brown’s for over 40 years, providing unsurpassed customer service. He has been gardening for many more - with his parents and grandparents who were heavily into horticulture. It is no stretch that Chris is "The Plant Guru”! Chris majored in Botany in graduate school, and continually updated his knowledge base over the years.  So, while Chris may not know everything (yet), you would be hard pressed to find someone as knowledgeable and passionate about plants. You may also catch a glance while walking around the nursery of drawing and paintings of landscapes that are products of Chris.  During the winter months, Chris keeps busy by assisting in a maple syrup sugar house  operation - splitting wood, tapping tress, and telling stories

Niña Klinck

Nursery Manager

Niña has been with E. C. Browns' since 1995. She is a 7th generation gardener with a passion for design who grew up on a truck farm. She has been involved with many aspects of growing her whole life in both agriculture and horticulture, greenhouse and field. She discovered and developed our own 'Ninz Blue' columbine. An award winning quilter, she can be found, during the off season creating landscapes in fabric, thread and other medium.

Aiden Cudhea

Landscape Foreman

Aiden is a lifelong Thetford resident, who joined the EC Brown’s team in 2019 working part time while a student at Vermont Technical College (Vermont State University, Randolph Campus). After receiving his associate's degree in landscape Contracting from VTC, Aiden took on a full-time role with the landscaping crew. Today, Aiden is the Landscape Foreman who loves working with clients to create beautiful landscapes in the upper valley, and surrounding communities. In his free time, you can find Aiden either on his boat doing some fishing, or on the golf course playing a round of golf.
