Ezo Marasaki Aster

This perennial aster from Japan makes a mound of leafy stems, blooming from August through October with deep blue-purple, multi-rayed daisies with yellow centers. Very useful for late summer and autumn color in the sunny perennial border or lightly shaded bed. Like other summer-blooming asters, it is smothered by pollinating insects of all kinds.
